- Enables the holder to visit Australia for travel, business purposes or to see family and friends for up to 12 months.
- This visa provides the following four streams:
Tourist – holiday or visiting family and friends
Business Visitor – attending business meeting/conferences or conducting business related transactions
Sponsored Family Stream – for those who have family or relatives in Australia (must be Australian citizens or permanent residents) that they wish to visit and who are able to sponsor them
Approved Destination Status – for People’s Republic of China Citizens that are part of a tour group wishing to visit Australia.
Frequent Traveller – for People’s Republic of China Citizens who frequently travel to Australia for personal or business purposes. (This visa can be granted for a period of up to 10 years with a 3 month maximum stay on each entry to Australia).
- Must provide evidence of:
– Good Health and Character
– Financial capacity to support the visit to Australia
– Travel to Australia is for a genuine visit with clear intention to return to home country before visa expiry - Holders are not permitted to carry out any work while holding this visa.
(For passport holders from Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Republic of San Marino, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom – British Citizen, Vatican City)
- Enables holders to stay in Australia for tourism, study or limited business purposes for a maximum of 3 months at a time with a visa validity period of up to 12 months.
- Applicant must be outside Australia and hold a passport from one of the above listed countries at time of application.
- Must provide evidence of:
– Good Health and Character
– Financial capacity to support the visit to and from Australia
– Travel to Australia is for a genuine temporary purpose with clear intention to return to home country before visa expiry. - An eVisitor is linked to the holder’s passport and this information is used by airlines, travel agents and Australian border agencies – the passport used in the eVisitor application must be the same passport used by the holder to travel to Australia.
- Does not attract an immigration application fee.
(For passport holders from Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong (SAR), Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Norway, Portugal, Republic of San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, The Netherlands, United Kingdom – British citizen, United Kingdom – British national (overseas), United States, Vatican City)
- Enables holders to stay in Australia for tourism, study or limited business purposes for a maximum of 3 months at a time with a visa validity period of up to 12 months.
- Applicant must be outside Australia and hold a passport from one of the above listed countries at time of application.
- Must provide evidence of:
– Good Health and Character
– Financial capacity to support the visit to and from Australia
– Travel to Australia is for a genuine temporary purpose with clear intention to return to home country before visa expiry. - An ETA is linked to the holder’s passport and this information is used by airlines, travel agents and Australian border agencies – the passport used in the ETA application must be the same passport used by the holder to travel to Australia.
- Attracts an immigration application fee of $20 AUD.
- Family members are required to apply for their own ETA separately.
